Series – Top 10 Drives of a lifetime: #3 The Florida Keys

The 181-kilometer drive on the Florida Keys Scenic Highway is definitely one of a kind.  The so-called Overseas Highway, travels through some of the nation's most spectacular scenery, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, and winds through vistas of natural beauty, areas rich in history and legend, views of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Folks in the Florida Keys still describe the stretch of US 1 from Key Largo to Key West as the "Road to Paradise." At each spot, you can park the car and also non-divers should find plenty else to do, from snorkeling to exploring state parks to visiting museums. From the first island of Key Largo to the “southernmost city” of Key West, take some time to experience the splendor of this byway, and find a feeling of beauty and relaxation in a one-of-a-kind location found no where else in the world.

Back in time...

Tech data: Canon EOS 5D, Canon EF 17-40 mm f/4 L
Location: Scheggino - Umbria
There are places where time seems to stand still, where you can find only peace and tranquility, without any noise of cars and the rhythm of the day is marked only by the movement of the birds, sunrises and sunsets. I found one of these places last weekend in Umbria, near Spoleto, with my love. A weekend of relax and a full immersion in nature, in order to regenerate the body and mind after long winter months. I really needed it!

Season's favorite...

It's slowly starting to get warmer and the weather has been agreeable enough to open up the grill and have the first BBQ of the season. And what better opening than with my American spicy chicken wings? I made some variations from last year recipe...but they always taste very appetizing...! I have many months ahead to make more tests....:-)

...at last!

You say Eos 5D and you think at the first time a full-frame digital has become for “humans", both in size and in price. It was 2005 but it seems a lifetime ago since, in the meantime, the world of professional and semi-pro SLR has discovered he can do many more things, such as professional-quality video. After 7 years here is the third act of this very personal saga of full-frame, a machine that looks like the perfect synthesis of all the best bits of the Japanese brand. The machine is completely redesigned: first there is a new sensor, more shooting speed, new autofocus area extended to 61 points, other gadgets such as the new Creative Photo button, which allows among other things to capture multiple exposures, shoot in HDR, and during the image review, to compare two images side by side. There are many other implementations, just like video section…but I’m waiting for an official European price…When will be mine? ;-)

Photo of the month: March

When the sun starts to set fishermen are usually coming in from their work, bringing in the catch of the day. Fishing is a hard and lonely trade. Going out in the sea not knowing if you return with some food; these people really understand the value of a hard days work. Take a look at the new photo of the month on my website. Enjoy!
