Happy holidays!

While here winter continues to show its strength, I want to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and a very Happy Holiday Season!

So much snow!

Last night here where I live snowed a lot and the awakening this morning was really amazing. At least 35 cm I measured in my garden and my dog Jasper at the sight really goes mad!

Photo of the month: December

With a little bit delay and just to create some Christmas atmosphere, the shot above is the new photo of the month on my website, the last for 2009! It was taken at the recently visited Christmas market in Augsburg, Germany. Enjoy!

I'm back...

I'm back from my winter trip to Germany and Austria. It has been a journey traveling along famous Romantic Road, days were very busy, cinnamon, mulled wine and other species filled the air and I could really feel the Christmas atmosphere typical of those places.

Leaving for Christmas Markets...

Next Saturday I'll leave for a car trip to Austria and Germany with a couple of friends. We'll visit a part of the Romantic Road with its famous Christmas Markets and we'll reach the medieval town of Rothenburg. On the way back home I plan to stop somewhere in the Austrian mountains. Hope to have fun, make lots of shots and see some snow!

Some macro...

These gray days make me lazy and dull, what's better than a few macro shots in the garden? Every time I remain amazed at how much beauty we have under our eyes and we can see only a small part of it. Here you can find some new autumn snaps.

Photo of the month: November

Autumn always had a special attraction for me. Everywhere you look you can see yellow, brown and orange colors and the many hues in between. All enhanced by the fog that where I live is always present. "Autumn abstract" is the new photo of the month on my website.

New Olympus Pen

Since I was already teased a lot with the previous version, now Olympus has introduced the new EP2 and I'm so serious about the purchase. It's a minor but important upgrade with the addition of a port for a new high resolution electronic viewfinder, all that I felt as a lack in the previous version. Two new art filter and a new i-Enhance 'colour boosting' function complete what looks like a professional compact carry-around camera. Hope that January 2010 come soon! :-)

Challenge...

I never had many opportunities to take pictures at a football match. But today a colleague of mine was playing near my home and I wanted to challenge myself. It was not an easy task!

New pro-line for Canon

Canon today has announced the new EOS-1D Mark IV – a high-speed, professional Digital SLR. The new EOS features a new Canon 16.1MP APS-H sensor and a brand new 45-point Auto Focus system with 39 f/2.8 sensitive cross-type points ideal for shooting action, sports, events and wildlife photography. As for the new EOS 7D, Canon carefully studied feedback from photographers around the world developing a camera to meet their specific requirements. Keep on shootin'!

Last day of summer

As you can see, it was an amazing day in Camogli (Genoa) last weekend. Lots of people were making the most of the good weather enjoying the sun and having fun along the seaside. It was the last day of summer indeed!

Photo of the month: October

Among the things that usually catch my attention when I'm with my camera are reflections. They throw my mind to a sort of parallel world and I really enjoy how they carry my imagination away. "Someone's watching you" is the new photo of the month on my website.

New photogallery

La Repubblica Parma, web edition of popular italian newspaper "La Repubblica", has published today a new photogallery presenting my Caribbean reportage. The shots are from my latest winter travel in the Lesser Antilles and Dominican Republic.
Here is the direct link: http://parma.repubblica.it/multimedia/home/11899077
Enjoy!

The thin line...

I consider street artists a sort of "unlucky" people. Don't misunderstand what I say, but very often among them you can find handsome and very talented guys so I ask myself: "How overcome the thin line that divide them to notoriety?".

Website updated

My website www.eyesimages.com has been recently updated with two new galleries: "Parma, colors of..." in the Projects section and "Models" in the Gallery section.
There you can find new views of my hometown Parma and some shots concerning a new photographic field for me: the world of modeling. I also added more B&W shots from the last summer Blues Festival in the specific Gallery. Hope you enjoy!

One of the latest?

Days growing shorter, fall is approaching, but every occasion is fine for an evening BBQ outdoors with some friends. One of the latest? Hope not....

New EOS 7D

After many rumors in the past days, Canon has today announced the new EOS 7D digital SLR. Features seem to be very interesting: new 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 4 processors, ISO range expandable to 12800, continuous shooting at 8 fps and full HD video recording. It also incorporates a new viewfinder with 1.0x magnification and 100% coverage.
Hope to have one in my hands and test it soon!

The Soul Busters Band

With the beautiful view of Fontanellato Castle as a backdrop, I really enjoy listening to this open air concert filled with some very good musicians.

Relocating...

This is a very busy week...I'm relocating to my new home so I'm writing this blog in the midst of cardboards and furniture... :-)

Hot weather...

During these hot summer evenings, a downtown bike ride, an ice-cream and some music is what I need...

Jazz live!

During summer, many public squares in my hometown fills up with musicians and evening shows. Some days ago I came across a very nice jazz performance.

Rootsway

Another weekend on stage, this time with some good food and music at Roots 'n Blues Festival.

BBQ

What's better than a midweek BBQ with colleagues on a hot summer evening, all freshened up by a glass of iced beer?

So fake, so real...

Last Saturday Achtung Babies, official U2 Tribute Band, came near my home for a live performance and gave me a great chance for stage photography. They invited me on stage and let me to move freely all over the place. What a great experience!
Many thanks to all band members, expecially to Alex and Pavel who made this possible.

My new toy

Last Sunday had some free time and went for a MTB ride to Taro River Regional Park near my home. I've made some x-country testing my new Merida.
Hope to have fun with my new toy!

E.D. My letter to the world

A theatral and musical representation of the poetry of Emily Dickinson in which human voice of Milena Vukotic and the beautiful trumpet sound of Paolo Fresu are melted together.

Amazing choreography!

Goodbye film!

Kodak Company announced today that within this year will end commerce of Kodachrome color film. This is truly an epochal change and for greeting the great history of this film, Kodak has created a gallery of famous images, included the afghan girl and other photos of McCurry, and other images of professional photographers: www.kodak.com/go/kodachrometribute
