Creating your
pictures with repeating elements or patterns provides picture unity and structure.
Pattern repetition creates rhythm and the eyes really enjoy following it and all of this lines, shapes, tones or colors can create very interesting images. The key is to zoom-in close enough that the pattern fills almost the frame and makes the repetition very constant (although maybe the repetition stops just outside your
framing). The picture above gives the sense that there could be
hundreds or thousands of them – even though there could be as few as 10-15 - as indeed it was... :-)
